Best Trail Running Memory of 2009: Running the Timberline Trail (40 miles) circumnavigating Mount Hood. Sunny, blue skies, great views, camped at 6000’ night before and saw a billion stars, killer sunrise, killer sunset, just an epic day.
Favorite Trail Ultra: Chuckanut 50k and Run for the Toad 50k. Both have great RD’s passionate about trail running and a great sense of camaraderie / trail community at them.
Beer or wine: Beer (Rolling Rock)
Trail Shoe of choice and why: Mountain Masochist. It’s incredibly flexible and responsive to transition from road to trails but protects my feet on the knarliest of technical North Shore Trails.
Objective #1 for 2010: Leadville 100 miler sub 18hrs.
Best race in 2009: Mt. Si 50 miler. Won in 6:17 when I should have been having surgery to fix some bum ligaments in my knee!
Person Who Has Influenced You Most: Too many to single out just one. David Horton, Monica Scholz, Odino Soligo, Don McNelly, Norm Frank, Wally Herman to name a few
When I’m Not Running I Prefer to: Facebook or watch movies
If A Genie Would Grant Me One Wish: a lifetime supply of free Coconut Water
When in Need of Rest and Relaxation I: Run
